Crystal is the most formal option in this range. It is chosen for executive recognition, top-performer awards and anything where the piece itself is meant to carry weight. The panels are thicker and clearer than standard glass, and they take engraving cleanly.
Starfire, optical crystal and jade
Starfire is a low-iron crystal without the green cast that ordinary glass shows at the edge, so it reads genuinely clear. It appears on the Simcoe Black and Starfire Plaque and the Beveled Starfire Crystal Plaque range. Optical crystal is used where the piece is thick enough for the edge to act as a lens, as on the Optical Crystal Horizontal and Vertical Plaques with a backward-sloping face.
Jade glass
Jade glass sits between glass and crystal, with a deliberate green cast at the edge. This range includes jade panels on black wood-product, rosewood, colored laminate and metallic aluminum backings, plus the Jade Glass Scroll Wall Plaque on a grooved backing.
Backings and mounting
Crystal panels are usually mounted rather than freestanding. Backings in this range include rosewood, black wood-product, carbon fibre, colored laminate and aluminum. Several are held on silver risers or stand-offs so the panel sits proud of the board. The Beveled Starfire Crystal Plaque hangs in either orientation.
Engraving on crystal
Crystal is engraved, which leaves a frosted mark that shows well against the clear body. Deep engraving into a thick panel reads three-dimensionally from the front. Ask us for a proof if your logo has fine lines, because thin detail behaves differently in crystal than on a flat plate.
