What is a walnut plaque and what is it used for?

A walnut plaque is a wood-framed recognition award with a walnut finish and a separate metal plate that carries the engraved names, dates, or logo. The Walnut Plaque With Wall-Mount Or Easel Desktop Display uses a gold or silver plate, so the text sits on metal rather than being cut into the wood. Organizations order it for recognition programs where the award stays on display in an office, lobby, or boardroom instead of being filed away.

How does a wood award plaque compare to an acrylic or glass award?

A wood award plaque gives a flat display surface that hangs on a wall, while acrylic and glass awards are usually free-standing shapes meant for a shelf. The Walnut Plaque With Wall-Mount Or Easel Desktop Display does both, since it takes a wall mount or sits on a desk. Wood does not show fingerprints the way clear acrylic does, and its metal plate holds a single imprint color cleanly at reading distance.

What sizes does the walnut plaque come in?

The Walnut Plaque With Wall-Mount Or Easel Desktop Display comes in 3 sizes: 7" x 9", 8" x 10", and 9" x 12". The 7" x 9" suits a desk or a group of matching awards on one wall, and the 9" x 12" reads clearly across a lobby or stage. Plate area scales with the board size, so longer citations and multi-line text fit better on the larger 2 sizes.

What is the plaque frame made of and what finish is the plate?

The frame is walnut, and the engraving plate is finished in gold or silver. Walnut is a hardwood with a dark brown grain, so the board keeps its color under normal indoor lighting. Choose the gold plate for a warmer contrast against the walnut or the silver plate for a cooler, higher-contrast look.

Can I put my company logo on a custom walnut plaque?

Yes. The Walnut Plaque With Wall-Mount Or Easel Desktop Display takes a 1-color imprint in 1 location on the plate, which covers a logo, recipient name, award title, and date in a single layout. Send vector artwork so fine logo detail and small type hold their edges at plate size. Production starts once you approve the proof, so review spelling and dates carefully before signing off.

How long does it take to produce a custom engraved plaque?

Production takes 5 working days from artwork approval. That clock starts when you approve the proof, not when you place the order, so allow extra days for proofing and any artwork revisions. Transit time is separate, so book roughly 2 weeks ahead of a ceremony date to be safe.

What events are walnut plaques most often used for?

Walnut plaques are ordered most often for retirement and service anniversary presentations, employee and sales achievement awards, supplier and vendor recognition, donor and sponsor thank-you gifts, board member send-offs, and association or club honors. They also work for dedications and ribbon-cutting mementos, where the award hangs permanently in the space it commemorates. Buyers pick wood plaques for these when the recipient is expected to keep the award on view for years.

How much does a custom walnut plaque cost per unit?

Per-unit pricing depends on the size you choose, the order quantity, and the plate finish. Larger boards cost more per piece than the 7" x 9", and the per-unit price drops as the quantity rises, so a full recognition program costs less per plaque than a single award. One-time artwork setup for the 1-color imprint is quoted with the order. Request a quote with your size and quantity for exact per-unit pricing.

How do I clean a walnut plaque without damaging the engraved plate?

Wipe the walnut plaque with a dry or barely damp soft cloth, then dry it right away. Skip ammonia, bleach, and solvent-based cleaners, which can dull the metal plate and lift the wood finish. Keep the plaque out of direct sunlight and away from humid spots such as bathrooms or exterior walls, since both fade wood finishes over time.
