Black Glass Plaque in Seven Wall Display Sizes

A black glass plaque shows the etched name as a light frost against a dark background, so the inscription reads from across a room without needing light behind it. Clear acrylic and crystal depend on light passing through the etch, which can wash out under office lighting or against a busy wall. The deep etch on this plaque is cut into the glass rather than printed on top, so the lettering keeps a sharp edge that a surface-printed acrylic award cannot match.

Order the 8" x 10" or 9" x 12" size for an individual retirement or years-of-service award, since both leave room for a logo above a full inscription. The 5" x 7" and 6" x 8" sizes suit desk awards or programs where several people are recognized at once. The 11" x 14" and 12" x 15" sizes are sized for lobby display or a team milestone that needs to be read at a distance.

Yes, the deep etch cuts your logo, the honoree name, the award title, and the date directly into the black glass in a single color. Artwork with color gradients or photographic shading has to be converted to a single-color line version first, because the decoration is one color only. Production begins after you approve the etched layout proof, so send the exact wording and spelling with your artwork.

Companies order engraved glass plaques most often for years-of-service milestones, retirement send-offs, sales quota recognition, employee of the year programs, and board or donor appreciation. Schools and nonprofits use them for coach recognition, scholarship naming, and building dedication displays. Real estate, insurance, and manufacturing firms also use them for top-producer and safety-record awards that stay on a wall for years.

Wipe the plaque with a soft microfiber cloth and spray glass cleaner onto the cloth rather than onto the plaque. The etching is cut into the glass, so routine cleaning will not wear it away, but abrasive pads and scouring powders can scratch the polished black surface around it. Use a dry, soft brush to lift dust out of the recessed etched lines.

No safety certification applies to a glass wall plaque, because it is a decorative display item with no food contact, skin contact, or electrical parts. Glass awards fall outside FDA food-contact rules and children's product testing requirements. If a government, school, or hospital purchase order requires a materials statement, ask for it before you place the order so we can confirm what documentation is available.

Per-unit price is quoted per order and moves with three factors: which of the seven sizes you choose, how many units you order, and how much of the face the etched artwork covers. A 5" x 7" plaque prices well below a 12" x 15" in the same run, and the per-unit figure drops as quantity rises. Send your size, quantity, and artwork to get firm per-unit pricing before you commit.

Plan on 2 to 3 weeks from order to delivery, which covers proofing, 5 working days of production after you approve the artwork, and ground transit. The production clock starts at proof approval, not at the order date, so returning your approval the same day protects a fixed ceremony date. Transit time is separate from production, and rush handling depends on the current shop schedule.
