Ebony Piano Finish Award Plaque with White Plate

A full color plaque on an ebony piano finish is a recognition award built from a lacquered black wood panel with a printed white plate mounted on the front. The plate carries artwork reproduced by a digital full color process, so photographs, logos with gradients, and multi-color crests all print in one pass. Buyers order it for awards banquets, service milestones, and donor or sponsor recognition where a photo or detailed logo needs to appear on the award itself.

A full color plaque reproduces artwork as a continuous-tone print with no limit on ink colors, while engraving cuts a single-tone mark into metal. Engraving suits plain text and simple line logos; digital full color handles photographs, skin tones, shading, and brand colors that engraving cannot show. Both mount to the same style of wood panel, so the choice comes down to whether your artwork needs color and photographic detail.

A piano finish is a wood panel sealed under a thick, high-gloss lacquer coat, the same finishing method used on piano cabinets. The ebony version reads as deep black with a mirror-like surface that shows fingerprints, so handle it by the edges during assembly and presentation. The panel is solid enough to hang on a wall or stand on a shelf with a display easel.

Send the highest resolution version of your artwork you have, sized for the plate you order. The digital full color process prints unlimited ink colors in a single pass, so photographs, gradients, sponsor logo blocks, and full color seals all reproduce without a color count limit. Vector logo files and photos of at least 300 dpi at final print size give the sharpest result; small web images pulled from a site usually print soft.

Production runs five working days from artwork approval. The clock starts when you approve the digital proof, not when you place the order, so approving proofs the same day keeps the schedule tight. Transit time to your address is added on top of those five days, so count backward from your event date and allow for shipping.

Ebony piano finish plaques are ordered most often for annual awards banquets, employee service anniversaries, and retirement presentations. Other common uses include sponsor and donor recognition for nonprofits, top producer awards in real estate and insurance, coach and team recognition in school athletics, and dedication pieces for a building or a named program. Any of these that involve a portrait photo or a multi-color logo suit the full color plate rather than an engraved one.

Wipe the plaque with a soft, dry microfiber cloth and nothing else for routine dusting. Skip ammonia-based glass cleaner, alcohol wipes, furniture polish, and any abrasive pad, since those can dull the lacquer and scuff the printed plate. Keep the award out of direct sunlight and away from damp rooms, because sustained UV fades printed color and humidity can affect a wood panel over years.

Per-unit cost is set by four things: which of the four sizes you choose, how many you order, your artwork setup, and whether each piece carries different names or photos. The larger formats use a bigger printed plate and a bigger wood panel, so they price above the smallest size, and the per-unit figure falls as quantity rises. Personalizing every piece individually costs more than running one identical design across the whole order. Send us your size, quantity, and artwork for a firm quote.
