What is the black marble award made from and does it need a base?

The black marble award is cut from one solid piece of genuine marble and stands on its own thick lower edge. There is no separate base to align or glue, so nothing can work loose over time. The back edge stays upright while the front face slopes toward the reader.

How tall is the black marble award and what area can be etched?

The black marble award stands 6 inches tall, and the sloping front carries an etched area of 3 by 5 inches. That window holds a name, a title, a date and a short line of thanks. One colorfill is included, so the cut letters come back filled rather than bare.

Why do veins and pattern changes appear across the black marble award?

The black marble award is cut from genuine quarried stone, so random veining runs through every piece. Two pieces from the same order will not carry an identical pattern, and that variation is natural rather than a fault. Buyers who want a uniform look across a large set should plan for it.

Which occasions suit a heavy stone piece rather than a printed certificate?

The black marble award suits retirement dinners, long service milestones, board recognition and dealer of the year presentations. Stone carries weight in the hand, which is why it is chosen where a paper certificate would feel thin. It also holds up on a shelf for decades without fading.

How long does production take, and can a single piece be ordered?

The black marble award is produced in five working days from artwork approval, and the minimum is one piece. A single retirement gift is therefore a normal order rather than an exception. Each one ships alone in its own carton.

What drives pricing on a stone piece like this one?

The black marble award is priced by quantity, by the artwork and by how much of the etched area is used. A single line of text sets up faster than a detailed crest, and larger runs bring the unit figure down. Ask for a written quote with the quantity in mind.

Does the etched lettering stay legible against the dark stone?

The black marble award is finished with one colorfill, which lays a light pigment into the cut so the letters read against the polished dark surface. Without fill, deep etch on dark stone can look faint under low light. The fill is part of the decoration.

Description

This black marble award is cut from one solid piece of polished stone, leaning back from a sloping engraving face to an upright rear edge with no separate base beneath it. Law firms, credit unions and family businesses hand it over when a partner retires or a branch closes out a record year.

Retirement dinners, board send-offs, dealer of the year presentations and long service ceremonies are where this piece turns up, usually on a table beside the certificates and the photographs before it moves to a shelf. The single 6 inch size sits comfortably on a desk and stays put, because solid stone carries its own weight without a plinth. Deep etch cuts into the sloping front across a 3 by 5 inch area, and one colorfill is included, so a name, a date and a line of thanks come back filled rather than left as bare cut stone. Random veining runs through genuine marble, which means every piece carries a slightly different pattern and none of them counts as a defect.

Buyers who want the same weight in a different silhouette usually look at the stonecast book replica, which lies open like a page instead of standing upright and reads well on a boardroom table rather than a shelf. Both belong to the marble and stone awards range, so one order can cover a retirement gift and a set of desk pieces for the team that stayed behind through the same year.

Send the wording and the logo and a proof comes back showing exactly how the etched line falls on the sloping face, with production running five working days from the day you approve it.
