What is a simulated walnut wall plaque with a double-etched antique plate used for?

A simulated walnut wall plaque with a double-etched antique plate is a wall-mounted recognition award that pairs a walnut-finish wood board with an etched metal presentation plate. Companies hang it in offices, lobbies and boardrooms to mark service anniversaries, retirements and donor gifts. The plate carries the recipient name, the award title and a logo in one etched piece.

What is the difference between a double-etched plate and a laser-engraved plate on an award plaque?

Double etching cuts the artwork into the metal plate, so the design sits below the plate surface instead of on top of it. A laser-engraved plate marks the coating on the surface, which produces a flatter, single-tone look. The recessed etch also holds colorfill, so a logo can be reproduced in brand colors.

What size simulated walnut wall plaque should I order for an employee award?

The simulated walnut wall plaque comes in 4 sizes: 7" x 9", 8" x 10", 9" x 12" and 10.5" x 13". Choose 7" x 9" or 8" x 10" for a single-recipient award carrying a name, a title and a date. Pick 9" x 12" or 10.5" x 13" when the plate holds a longer citation, a team list or a donor roll.

Is a simulated walnut wall plaque made from real walnut wood?

No. The board is wood finished to look like walnut under a piano-gloss coat, not solid walnut lumber. The finish repeats the same grain and color on every board, so a set of awards ordered for one ceremony matches piece to piece. The plate mounted on the front is metal, not wood.

Can I put our company logo on the etched plate, and can the etching be color filled?

Yes. Metal etching reproduces a logo, the recipient name and the award text together on one plate, worked from your approved artwork. Send vector art so fine logo lines hold their shape at plate size. Colorfill of the recessed area is quoted separately, so ask for that price when you send the art.

How long does production take for a custom etched wall plaque?

Production runs 5 working days from artwork approval. Proofing and shipping transit are additional, so start the order about 2 weeks before an awards ceremony. Proof approval is where most orders lose time, so return the proof the same day when the date is tight.

What events do companies order wood award plaques for?

Companies order wood award plaques for service anniversaries, retirement presentations, employee of the year programs, sales achievement awards, safety milestones and board recognition. Nonprofits use the same format for donor recognition and building dedications. Schools and associations order them for coach, volunteer and outgoing officer awards.

How do I clean a piano finish plaque without damaging the etched plate?

Wipe the plaque with a dry, soft cloth for routine cleaning. Keep ammonia glass cleaners and abrasive pads off the etched plate, because they dull the plate finish and can lift colorfill out of the recess. Hang the plaque indoors and out of direct sunlight, since a piano-gloss wood finish reacts to heat and humidity.

How much does a custom simulated walnut wall plaque cost per unit?

Per-unit price on the simulated walnut wall plaque depends on the size chosen, the amount of etched copy and whether you add colorfill. The 4 sizes step up in price from 7" x 9" to 10.5" x 13", and the unit price drops as order quantity rises. Colorfill of the recessed background is priced on request. Send your size, quantity and artwork for an exact per-unit figure.
