25 questions Β· All FAQ topics
How should custom apparel be washed to protect the print?
Wash custom apparel inside-out, cold, on a gentle cycle, then hang dry or tumble low. Heat is the enemy of plastisol and heat transfers β skip bleach, fabric softener on prints, and high-heat drying. Cared-for prints survive 50+ washes looking sharp. See more in our apparel FAQ and shop custom apparel.
Can screen-printed shirts be ironed?
Yes β iron screen-printed shirts inside-out or with a cloth barrier, never directly on the print. Direct heat can melt or gloss plastisol ink. Steaming from the inside is the safest wrinkle remedy for printed garments. Browse custom apparel or read our apparel FAQ.
How do I care for embroidered apparel?
Machine wash embroidered apparel cold and inside-out, avoid bleach, and skip high heat. Embroidery is the most durable decoration β threads outlast the garment when snags are trimmed (never pulled) and stains are treated around, not scrubbed through, the stitching. Shop custom apparel and see our apparel FAQ.
Are custom tumblers dishwasher safe?
Hand-washing is the safe default for vacuum-insulated stainless tumblers β dishwasher heat can compromise insulation seals and printed imprints over time. Laser engraving itself is impervious. Some newer retail models are rated dishwasher safe, so check the product page. Shop stainless steel tumblers and our drinkware FAQ.
Can I microwave my custom mug or tumbler?
Ceramic mugs without metallic accents can be microwaved; stainless steel tumblers and anything with metallic trim never can. Metal and microwaves do not negotiate. When unsure, hand-warm liquids and pour. Explore drinkware and our drinkware FAQ.
How do I remove odors or stains from drinkware?
A baking-soda paste or a vinegar soak handles most coffee staining and lingering odors, and bottle brushes reach tumbler bottoms. Avoid bleach on stainless and abrasives on printed exteriors; deep-clean lids and gaskets too. See our step-by-step on how to remove coffee stains from mugs and shop drinkware.
Why does my water bottle lid smell, and what is the fix?
Water bottle lids smell because gaskets trap moisture and residue. Remove the gasket, soak lid components in vinegar solution or baking-soda water, brush the crevices, and air-dry fully with the lid off. A weekly gasket habit keeps bottles fresh indefinitely. Shop drinkware accessories and our drinkware FAQ.
How should recipients care for powder-coated drinkware?
Hand-wash powder-coated drinkware with non-abrasive sponges and avoid metal scouring pads that scratch the coating. Powder coat is tough, but drops on hard surfaces can chip edges β a silicone boot accessory adds insurance for job-site use. Browse stainless steel tumblers and our drinkware FAQ.
How do I clean canvas and cotton tote bags?
Spot-clean canvas and cotton totes for routine marks; for full cleans, machine wash cold and air-dry, expecting minor shrinkage on untreated cotton. Reshape while damp. Printed totes follow apparel rules: gentle, cold, no bleach. Shop cotton tote bags and read our bags FAQ.
Can non-woven polypropylene bags be washed?
Wipe or hand-rinse non-woven polypropylene bags and air-dry β machine washing and dryers degrade the non-woven fabric. They are engineered for repeated use, not laundering, so a damp-cloth wipe handles grocery-duty grime fine. Shop non-woven tote bags and our bags FAQ.
How should leather and PU journal covers be maintained?
Wipe leather and PU journal covers with a barely damp cloth, and condition genuine leather occasionally with an appropriate conditioner. Keep PU (vegan leather) away from prolonged heat and solvents, which cause peeling; debossed marks need no special care. Shop journals and notebooks.
What is the right way to care for laser-engraved items?
Laser-engraved items need no special care β engraving is a permanent material alteration, immune to washing and wear. Care for the underlying product per its material (stainless, bamboo, leather) and the mark outlives everything around it. Learn more in our laser engraving FAQ and shop drinkware.
How do I keep promotional umbrellas working longer?
Open umbrellas away from obstructions, dry them fully open before storage to prevent mildew and fabric stress, and avoid inverting in gusts beyond the frame rating. Auto-open mechanisms appreciate an occasional gentle dry-silicone touch at the joints. Browse umbrellas.
How should power banks be stored and maintained?
Store power banks at partial charge (40β80%) in moderate temperatures, and avoid hot cars and full-depletion storage, which age lithium cells fastest. Charge every few months in storage. Quality certified banks handle hundreds of cycles when treated this way. Shop power banks & wireless chargers and our tech FAQ.
What is the safe way to clean electronics like speakers and chargers?
Clean electronics unplugged, with a dry or barely damp lint-free cloth β never spray directly onto devices and never submerge unless the item carries a waterproof rating. Clear ports with dry air, not metal objects. Shop Bluetooth speakers and our tech FAQ.
How do recipients clean silicone and rubberized items?
Clean silicone and rubberized items with mild soap and water, then air-dry β silicone phone wallets, straps, and grips clean effortlessly. Avoid oils and solvents that degrade the adhesive backing on stick-on accessories. Browse tech & electronics or shop phone wallets.
How long do imprinted sunscreen, sanitizer, and lip balm last?
Imprinted sunscreen, sanitizer, and lip balm typically last 1β3 years from manufacture β check the printed expiration dates. Store cool, since heat (cars, summer storage) shortens shelf life and can alter texture. Distribute consumables within their freshness window. Shop sunscreen, hand sanitizers, and lip balm & chapsticks.
How do I care for blankets and plush promotional items?
Most fleece and sherpa blankets machine-wash cold and tumble low β always confirm the care label first. Plush toys generally spot-clean; surface-wash with mild soap and air-dry to protect embroidered features and stuffing. Shop blankets & throws and stuffed animals & plush toys.
What extends the life of promotional caps and hats?
Spot-clean caps and hats with mild detergent and a soft brush; hand-wash if needed and air-dry on a form β never the dishwasher, never the dryer. Structured crowns keep their shape best stored upright, not crushed in bags. Shop hats and read our apparel FAQ.
How should recipients care for bamboo and wood products?
Hand-wash bamboo and wood products quickly (no soaking, no dishwasher), dry them immediately, and oil cutting boards monthly with food-safe mineral oil. Wood rewards minutes of care with years of service, and engraved marks deepen beautifully with age. Shop cutting boards and our laser engraving FAQ.
Do you provide care instructions with orders?
Yes β product-specific care guidance lives on each product page, and we can include printed care cards in kitted gifts on request. A small insert meaningfully extends product life and brand experience. Browse all products or contact us to add care cards to a kit.
Why does proper care matter for promotional ROI?
Every extra month of product life is free additional impressions: a cared-for tote logs hundreds more public appearances, and a maintained tumbler earns years more desk time. Care instructions are impression-extension strategy disguised as customer service. Explore all products or about Promotional Product Inc.
A recipient damaged their gift β can they get a replacement?
Wear-and-tear is not a defect, but talk to us β small replacement runs are easy with your art on file, and brand-name items may carry manufacturer warranties. For valued recipients, the goodwill of a replacement usually costs less than the impression of refusing one. Contact us or see our returns FAQ.
