What yellow means in branding
Optimism and attention — the hardest color to print a logo on. We stock 32 yellow shades across 1,749 products.
What yellow says about a brand
Yellow reads as optimism, warmth and attention. It is the most visible color to the human eye in daylight, which is why it dominates warning signage and school transport. In quantity it becomes fatiguing, so it works best as the thing the eye lands on rather than the field it lands in.
Who uses yellow on branded merchandise
Yellow suits food, children's programs, summer campaigns and safety equipment, and it is very effective on a trade show table full of blue and gray. It is the strongest choice available when the only goal is being seen.
Before you send artwork
Printing on yellow
Yellow is the most demanding product color we stock for artwork. Nothing light survives on it, so the imprint has to be dark, and yellow ink printed on any other color needs a white underbase or it turns muddy. Send a dark, one-color version of the logo with any yellow order.
Check your imprint against a specific shade in the contrast checker, or read the artwork guidelines for what a printer needs.
