Description
This custom place award has the third place front in bronze, so the finish tells the story before anyone reads the engraving on the back. It is for organizers who need a full podium rather than one winner: tournaments, science fairs, sales contests and any event where third still gets called to the front.
Fundraising events use the whole podium because a raffle or a tournament ladder needs somewhere to stop, and a bronze piece keeps third place from feeling like a consolation handshake. Employee gifts work the same way inside a sales contest, where handing a third place medal to the team that just missed keeps the run going next quarter. At trade show giveaways, tournament organizers and club suppliers hand these to prospects as proof of what a finished award program looks like. The blank back is standard, so a bulk award order that skips engraving is still an option for a giveaway table. Each medal ships individually polybagged, so the bronze face does not scuff against the others in transit.
The marble award with a cast medallion is what most organizers reach for when first place needs to look different from the rest of the podium. Give the top finisher the desk piece and let the bronze medals cover the places behind it, engraved in one run. Every option in the coins and medallions list takes engraving on the back, so the podium can be mixed without a second proof. A zinc award engraves cleanly on the back.
Send the category list and the artwork and we will return a free virtual proof of the engraved back, along with a quote covering setup and shipping, before the podium goes to production.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are custom 3rd place medals and what does the front show?
The custom 3rd place medals are zinc medals with a stock 3rd place front and an engraved back. The front design is fixed, so you only choose the wording for the back.
What size is the 3rd place medal and how big is the engraving area?
The 3rd place medal measures 2 inches across from edge to edge. The engraved area on the back is the same 2 inches in diameter, so there is room for a short line or a small logo.
What is the 3rd place medal made of and what color does it come in?
The 3rd place medal is made from zinc and has a stock bronze front. Brass is the only color option.
How do I customize custom 3rd place medals with my own wording?
The custom 3rd place medals are customized by engraving the back, which is the imprint method for this medal. The front keeps its stock design. Send us the text or logo you want on the back and the quantity you need.
What is the minimum order for custom 3rd place medals?
The minimum order for custom 3rd place medals is 20 medals. Each medal comes in its own polybag, so an order of 20 arrives as 20 separate bags.
How long does an order of 3rd place medals take to produce?
The standard lead time for the 3rd place medal is 7 business days. Give us your event date when you order so we can plan around it.
What affects the price of custom 3rd place medals?
The price of custom 3rd place medals depends on the quantity, the engraving, setup and any add-ons such as a ribbon. Standard pricing includes the blank medal, and an extra decal location on the back is charged separately.
Can the 3rd place medal be ordered with a ribbon attached?
Yes, the 3rd place medal can take a ribbon attachment in 1 1/2 inch or 7/8 inch widths. Ribbon is an add-on, so it is priced apart from the medal.
How much does a shipment of 3rd place medals weigh?
A shipment of the 3rd place medal is estimated at 28 pounds per 160 units, packed in a carton about 12 by 9 by 6 inches. Actual weights and carton sizes vary with the order.
