Freestanding Acrylic Block Award in Small and Medium

Yes, Lucite is a trade name for acrylic, the transparent plastic chemically known as polymethyl methacrylate. It matches the clarity of glass at roughly half the weight and resists shattering on impact. Award makers cast it into solid blocks that stay optically clear for years of indoor display without yellowing.

A freestanding Lucite block award weighs about half as much as a comparable glass or crystal piece and will not shatter if it tips off a shelf. Molded acrylic is also more consistent than handmade art glass, which often carries air bubbles and surface variations as part of its character. Crystal generally costs more per piece, and many glass awards limit you to engraving alone.

Small acrylic block awards appear most often at annual employee banquets, sales achievement ceremonies, retirement send-offs, safety milestone programs, school and athletic honors, and donor recognition events. Their compact footprint suits recipients who display awards in cubicles or home offices. Organizations also hand them out as speaker and volunteer thank-you gifts at conferences and galas.

A custom small freestanding block award runs $40.60 to $61.74 per unit at retail, with price breaks at quantities of 6, 25, 50, and 100 pieces. You pay $61.74 each at six pieces, $53.69 at 25, $46.69 at 50, and $40.60 at 100. Quantity is the main price factor because the unit price already includes a laser or full-color imprint in one location, leaving a one-time setup charge as the other cost to budget.

Yes, setup charges apply to reorders as well as first-time orders for this award. Budget $45.00 for laser engraving setup or $50.00 for 4-color process printing each time you place an order, even when the artwork is unchanged. Placing one larger order spreads the fee across more pieces and lowers your effective per-unit cost compared with splitting the run into smaller reorders.

Order freestanding block awards at least four weeks before your ceremony date. Production starts only after you approve the proof, so allow time for artwork review and proofing on top of the 9 to 12 day production run and transit from Illinois. Adding a one-week buffer protects your event date against proof revisions or carrier delays.

Clean a Lucite acrylic award with a soft microfiber cloth, mild dish soap, and lukewarm water, then pat it dry. Skip ammonia-based glass cleaners, alcohol, and abrasive pads, because they craze or scratch acrylic surfaces. Between washes, dust with a dry microfiber cloth instead of paper towels, which leave fine scratches over time.

These acrylic block awards are manufactured in China and imprinted and shipped from a facility in Illinois. Freight quotes calculate from the 60646 Illinois zip code as the shipping origin. No food-safety or environmental certifications are published for this item, and none apply because it is a display piece rather than a food-contact or wearable product.
