Mug Season Is Here: 25 Cozy Winter Coffee Mugs to Put Your Logo On

The best winter coffee mugs are the ones that feel good in cold hands, hold the heat and suit the drink: a stout campfire mug for coffee, a glass or spoon mug for hot chocolate and an insulated mug for the commute. We went through our whole range of custom coffee mugs and picked 25 winter mugs worth putting a logo on, then sorted them by what goes in the mug and who it is for. Every mug below can be printed or engraved, and every photo is the real product.
Six Winter Mugs to Start With
View all coffee mugs →How We Chose the Best Coffee Mugs for Winter
We looked for mugs that do a winter job well, then checked each one against its product photo and its listed details. A summer giveaway cup only has to be cheap and cheerful. A winter mug gets used every morning for months, so it has to earn its place. To make this list of the best coffee mugs for cold weather, a mug had to pass four checks.
- It feels good to hold. Wide bodies, thick walls and real handles beat thin, narrow cups.
- It suits a hot drink. That means ceramic, stoneware, glass, enamel or insulated steel.
- It carries a logo well. Each mug has a clear print or engraving area.
- It is one we can stand behind. Each of these is a current product in our range, and several are mugs customers have ordered before.
Winter is also when a mug gets seen the most. Coffee is a daily habit for most of the country:
Which Winter Coffee Mugs Suit Which Drink
Match the mug to the drink first and the person second. This table is the short version of the whole list.

| A gift for staff or clients | Mug gift set with cocoa or treats | Arrives packed and ready to give | 21 to 25 |
Cozy Mugs: Ceramic, Campfire and Enamel Classics
Cozy mugs are short, wide and a little rustic, and they are the easiest winter mugs to give to a mixed group. Almost everyone will use one. Browse the full shelves of campfire mugs, enamel mugs and coffee mugs if you want more colors.
1. Campfire Mug, 15 oz

The campfire mug is the shape most people picture when they think of cozy mugs: short, wide and speckled like old camp enamel, but made of ceramic so it feels solid in the hand. It holds 15 oz, takes a one-side or wraparound print, and the speckle pattern varies from piece to piece. Hand washing is recommended. See the Campfire Mug, 15 oz.
2. Full Color Campfire Mug, 15 oz

Same stout campfire shape, but printed in full color around the whole mug. Pick this one when your artwork has more than one color, a pattern or a photo. It comes in a wide range of colors, including two-tone styles with a white inside. See the Full Color Campfire Mug, 15 oz.
3. Speckled Hearth Ceramic Mug, 8 oz

A small ceramic mug molded to look like a tin camp cup, with a flared rim. At 8 oz it suits espresso drinkers, a short pour of cider or a child-size hot chocolate. It comes in seven colors and it is one our customers have ordered more than once. See the Speckled Hearth Ceramic Mug, 8 oz.
4. Speckled Clay Java Mug, 16 oz

A tall 16 oz stoneware mug with a speckled finish and a bare clay band at the base. It looks handmade, which is why it works as a gift. Care note: this one is hand-wash only and is not microwave or dishwasher safe. See the Speckled Clay Java Mug, 16 oz.
5. Bistro 3-Tone Mug

The rounded bistro shape, finished in three tones: the outside color, a different glaze inside and a contrasting rim. It reads as a coffee-shop mug, so it suits cafes, bakeries and any office that takes its coffee seriously. See the Bistro 3-Tone Mug.
6. Reactive Glaze Mug, 16 oz

Reactive glaze changes in the kiln, so no two mugs come out exactly alike. The color drifts from cream to brown at the rim, and a tone-on-tone logo sits quietly on the front. This is the pick for clients and executives who would never use a loud promotional mug. See the Reactive Glaze Mug, 16 oz.
7. Foundry Speckled Enamel Mug, 16 oz

The real thing: an iron body with a speckled enamel finish and a steel rim. It is light, hard to break and at home next to a fire pit. It comes in six colors. It is hand-wash only and must not go in the microwave. See the Foundry Speckled Enamel Mug, 16 oz.
Hot Chocolate Mugs
Good hot chocolate mugs have a wide mouth for toppings and a way to stir, and clear glass shows off the drink. These four hot cocoa mugs (the same thing by another name) are built for whipped cream and marshmallows. To turn any of them into a gift, add a packet from our hot chocolate and cocoa packs.
8. Ceramic Mug with a Matching Spoon, 16 oz

Hot chocolate needs stirring, and this 16 oz mug carries its own spoon in the handle. The inside glaze and the spoon match, so the whole set looks finished on a desk. It is our closest match to the spoon mugs you see on every winter gift list. See the Ceramic Mug with a Matching Spoon, 16 oz.
9. Full Color Mug with Hot Cocoa on a Spoon

An 11 oz white ceramic mug printed in full color, packed with a block of hot cocoa on a wooden spoon and a hang tag. Stir the spoon into hot milk and it melts into a cup of cocoa. It arrives as one ready-to-hand-out gift. See the Full Color Mug with Hot Cocoa on a Spoon.
10. Nordic-Style Glass Mug, 13 oz

A clear 13 oz glass mug with a thick handle. Glass is the best way to show off a layered drink: whipped cream, marshmallows, a cinnamon stick. A white logo stands out sharply against dark coffee or cocoa. See the Nordic-Style Glass Mug, 13 oz.
11. Glass Mug with Bamboo Lid, 11 oz

An 11 oz glass mug with a bamboo lid that keeps the heat in between sips and doubles as a coaster. You can print the glass and also engrave the lid, so your logo shows from the side and from above. See the Glass Mug with Bamboo Lid, 11 oz.
Hot Cocoa to Tuck Inside the Mug
View all hot chocolate and cocoa →A Soup Mug for Cold-Weather Lunches
A soup mug is wider and lower than a coffee mug, so a spoon can reach the bottom. It is an unusual winter gift, which is exactly why people remember who gave it to them.
12. Aztec Soup Mug, 12 oz

A wide, low 12 oz stoneware mug with a matching spoon that rests in the handle. It holds soup, chili or oatmeal, and it is the mug people keep at work for lunch. The outside is black and the inside and spoon come in a choice of bright colors. Hand washing is recommended. See the Aztec Soup Mug, 12 oz.
Mugs That Keep Coffee Hot
A mug that keeps coffee hot is either insulated, lidded or heated. An insulated coffee mug made of double-wall stainless steel with vacuum insulation holds heat the longest. A lid on a ceramic mug helps for a shorter time. A warming base adds heat back. Heat times below are the makers' own ratings. For more shapes and sizes, see all travel mugs.
13. Insulated Camp Mug with Cork Base, 14 oz

Double-wall stainless steel with copper insulation, rated by the maker to keep drinks hot for eight hours. The cork base stops it sliding on a desk and the clear push-on lid has a slide closure. If you want one insulated mug that looks good in an office, start here. See the Insulated Camp Mug with Cork Base, 14 oz.
14. Camper Vacuum Insulated Camp Mug, 14 oz

A vacuum insulated camp mug whose inner wall is made mostly from recycled stainless steel. It is rated to keep drinks hot for up to four hours, and the push-on lid slides shut. A good choice when your brand cares about recycled materials. See the Camper Vacuum Insulated Camp Mug, 14 oz.
15. Legendary Camp Mug, 12 oz

A 12 oz stainless steel camp mug with double-wall vacuum insulation and a press-fit drink-through lid. It has the rugged, hammered-green look that outdoor crews and construction teams like. Hand wash only. See the Legendary Camp Mug, 12 oz.
16. Titan Thermal Copper Mug, 14 oz

Copper vacuum insulation again, rated for eight hours hot, in a short mug with a wide mouth that is easy to fill and clean. It comes in four colors and arrives in a gift box, so it is ready to hand to a client. See the Titan Thermal Copper Mug, 14 oz.
17. Taiga Stainless Steel Mug with Sliding Lid, 20 oz

The big one. A tall 20 oz stainless steel mug with a handle and a sliding sip lid, for people who fill up once and are gone for the morning. It suits drivers, site crews and anyone with a long commute who wants a travel mug with a real handle. See the Taiga Stainless Steel Mug with Sliding Lid, 20 oz.
18. Tahoe Ceramic Mug with Wood Lid, 16 oz

A 16 oz ceramic mug with a wooden push-on lid and a small groove inside that holds a tea bag out of the way. It is microwave safe, so a drink that has gone cold can be reheated in the same mug. It ships in a gift box. See the Tahoe Ceramic Mug with Wood Lid, 16 oz.
19. USB Bamboo Mug Warmer with Ceramic Mug

A different answer to cold coffee: an 8 oz ceramic mug that sits on a bamboo warming base. The base plugs into a USB port and warms the drink to about 131 degrees Fahrenheit. The cable is included. This is a desk gift people use every single day in winter. See the USB Bamboo Mug Warmer with Ceramic Mug.
20. Temperature Control Smart Mug, 14 oz

The premium pick. This 14 oz smart mug holds your drink at the temperature you choose, between 120 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit, on its charging coaster or for up to an hour and a half on its battery. Save it for top clients, executives and milestone gifts. See the Temperature Control Smart Mug, 14 oz.

If you are looking for coffee mug gift ideas for a team, these five save you the work of buying mugs, cocoa and wrapping separately. You can also build your own set from any mug above and our mug stuffers.
21. Mug and Hot Chocolate Bomb Gift Set

A two-tone ceramic mug with a hot chocolate bomb sitting inside, wrapped in cello with a full-color hang tag. Pour hot milk over the bomb and it opens into cocoa and marshmallows. The mug comes in five color pairings and is hand-wash only. See the Mug and Hot Chocolate Bomb Gift Set.
22. Ceramic Mug with Mini S'mores Kit, 10 oz

A 10 oz ceramic mug packed with a mini s'mores kit: graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. It is a small, friendly gift for a team, and a nice change if you gave cocoa last year. The mug is hand-wash only. See the Ceramic Mug with Mini S'mores Kit, 10 oz.
23. Speckled Camping Mug Gift Set, 16 oz

A 16 oz speckled stainless steel camping mug filled with double chocolate cocoa mix, crushed peppermint and mini marshmallows, held in by a printed sleeve. Other fillings are available, including a cocoa bomb, a s'mores kit and cookies with tea. See the Speckled Camping Mug Gift Set, 16 oz.
24. Winter Warmth Kit

The name says it. A gift box holding a 12 oz mug, a packet of hot chocolate and a 6 oz scented candle. You choose the mug color and the candle scent. It is the easiest all-in-one answer when you need employee Christmas gifts that feel thought through. See the Winter Warmth Kit.
25. Warm Holiday Wishes Full Color Mug in Gift Box

An 11 oz white ceramic mug printed in full color and packed in a full-color holiday gift box. If you are after custom Christmas mugs with your own artwork all the way around, and you want them boxed and ready to hand out, this is the one. See the Warm Holiday Wishes Full Color Mug in Gift Box.
Holiday Order Planner for Custom Christmas Mugs
Ordering custom Christmas mugs or holiday mugs goes smoothly when you settle five things before you ask for a quote. Copy this list into an email and fill it in.
- Who is it for? Staff, clients, event guests or all three. Different groups can get different mugs in one order.
- How many? Count the recipients and add a few spares for new hires and breakages. Ordering Christmas mugs in bulk brings the price per mug down, and so does ordering custom mugs in bulk at any time of year.
- Which mug? Pick one from the list above, plus a second choice in case a color sells out.
- What goes on it? Send your logo as a vector file if you have one. One-color logos print cleanest on speckled and glazed mugs. Full-color artwork needs a full-color mug.
- When must it arrive? Give us the date of your party or your last day in the office, not December 25. We will confirm whether that date works before you pay.
Printed mugs take longer than plain ones, because each order is proofed, printed and then shipped. Our production time guide explains each step. If mugs are only one part of your holiday list, our corporate gift ideas guide covers the rest, including the last safe shipping dates.
How to Care for Printed Winter Mugs
Hand washing is the safest way to keep a printed or engraved mug looking new. Care rules differ by material, so pass them on with the gift.
- Speckled clay, reactive glaze and enamel mugs: hand wash. Enamel mugs have a metal body and must never go in a microwave.
- Insulated stainless steel mugs: hand wash, and never microwave.
- Plain ceramic mugs: check the product page. Some are microwave safe, such as the lidded Tahoe mug above.
- Glass mugs: warm the glass with hot tap water before pouring in a boiling drink.
If a favorite mug picks up brown rings over the winter, our guide on how to remove coffee stains from mugs shows how to lift them.
What Is the Best Mug for Hot Chocolate?
The best mug for hot chocolate is a wide ceramic or glass mug that holds 11 oz or more, with room on top for cream and marshmallows. A mug with a built-in spoon makes stirring easy, and clear glass shows the drink. Picks 8 to 11 above are our hot chocolate mugs.
Which Mug Keeps Coffee Hot the Longest?
A double-wall stainless steel mug with vacuum insulation and a lid keeps coffee hot the longest. On this list, the two copper-insulated mugs, picks 13 and 16, carry the longest maker ratings at eight hours hot. A ceramic mug with a lid or a warming base is the next best choice for a desk.
Can You Put a Logo on Winter Mugs?
Yes. Every mug on this list can be printed or engraved with a logo. That is what custom coffee mugs are. Ceramic mugs are usually screen printed in one color or printed in full color. Stainless steel mugs are often laser engraved. Tell us which mug you like and we will show you the print area and a proof before anything is made.
Are Printed Mugs Dishwasher and Microwave Safe?
Some are, but many winter mugs are hand-wash only, and metal mugs must never go in a microwave. Speckled clay, reactive glaze, enamel and insulated steel mugs should be washed by hand. Check the product page for the mug you choose before you tell your team it is dishwasher safe.
When Should You Order Custom Christmas Mugs?
Order custom Christmas mugs as soon as you have chosen the mug and have your logo ready. Printing and shipping both take time, and the weeks before the holidays are the busiest of the year. Give us the date the mugs must arrive and we will confirm whether it can be met.
What Goes in a Hot Chocolate Mug Gift Set?
A hot chocolate mug gift set holds a mug plus something to make the drink, usually a cocoa packet or a hot chocolate bomb, and often marshmallows or peppermint. Some sets add cookies, a s'mores kit or a candle. Picks 21 to 25 above come already packed.
Found a winter mug you like? Tell us how many you need and when, and we will send a quote and a proof.
