Description

One of a set of substantial awards in aquashaped sandstone and starfire glass, enhanced with a circular aluminum accent. Sandstone, as a major structural element, reinforces the impression of weight, solidity and permanence in an award. In the Plateau, the sandstone base encloses the multi-angled starfire glass on three sides, providing a unique frame for artwork. An aluminum circle, recessed into the sandstone and resting against the starfire, provides an added focal point for artwork. Due to the nature of sandstone, the exact thickness, color and surface texture may vary from piece to piece. Etching or colorfill on sandstone is not available. Second position etch optional.
